I'm not in your neck of the woods but I've been wanting to go to a meet of some kind as well. I tried looking up this forum for possible past meets but nothing. There are certainly alot of Malibus rolling in the MD/DC/VA area for sure. Also, if you've ever been to Vegas recently, Malibus galore........lol Just the taxi fleets alone out there is full of them.

I think putting together a meet on this forum is a lost cause. Maybe due to the lack of Malibu popularity amongst people who are into the whole 'meet' thing. I started a thread to find OH/IN/KY owners interested in a meet, but no dice.

It would be awesome though!!!!!

I'm in OH, I would love to have a meet. I've never been to one, but there's a first for everything!

I'm in KY. I'd like to see about getting to one, too.

Even if it is only 4 or 5 people, I am sure we can get a good photo shoot out of it :)

Definitely. I would be down for taking off work and meeting up. I would just need to know in advance.

I will bring the camera, lens, tripod, etc for the pictures. If we can get a few more people, we can try to get a meet up and running preferably somewhere in the middle for everyone (if that makes sense)

Good times, good pictures, good company, good food......im excited!!!!!

This is a good idea! I'm moving these posts to a new thread so we don't hijack this one.

Oh, and by the way, I'll bring my camera too and learn something from y'all!

I'll bring my camera too, it's nothing fancy though! We can talk, cruise, eat, and have a good time. It's obvious we all share a hobby for cars.

From what I can see we have 3 basic cities to consider, plus Maryland and Ohio.

Cincinnati, Louisville, Memphis - centrally located of these is Louisville or somewhere further south but not all the way to Elizabethtown, KY.

Ohio - are you around Cinci or Dayton? If so, see above. If not, see below. ;)

To include Maryland we'll need to know where in MD and if you'd be willing to drive toward the center or western side of KY. I just came back from DC last week and there are a lot of hills in WV and Eastern KY until about Lexington. West of there it gets a little less hilly.

Also, is sometime in August good for you guys? The next two weekends are eaten up for me.

If you guys get more specific details on this as far as where the meet will be, date and time then I might just be open to making a road trip out for it........:) I'll keep a look out on this thread.

August works. I start back to college end of August so anytime before then. After that, my free time will be shot.

We could each bring some food. Maybe make a list so that we can assure we have an awesome cookout or whatever :)

Mid August works best for me. The office is typically slow around that time and I am sure I can take a couple days off!

OK, so I'll propose Saturday, August 20th - weather permitting.

I live in Louisville so for me that would mean the meet could be anywhere. I live in an apartment so it's not too conducive for "parties". We have a number of parks around the area or we can find a spot a little ways out of town. If we're intending to have quite a few show up, or if some read about it here and just pop in (hey, the more the merrier!) then we might need to find a parking lot to get a group picture of the cars and/or members.

Any other suggestions? Proposals? Lexington isn't too far away and it could mean the difference between someone from MD, NC, WV, or VA attending.

Heck, Deals Gap, TN is about 5 hours from here. It is on the Tail of the Dragon - a stretch of road with 318 curves in 11 miles. I've wanted to go there for almost 2 years since I heard of it. What do you think of that? A meet AND a cruise! Supposed to be heavily monitored by the TN State Police, but supposed to be some great photo ops, too. It is on the southern edge of the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. We'd all have to be prepared to do some driving once there, or choose to park and gather somewhere.
