It's the last one on the list. Shows the Gen7 power curve.

The link you provide is for the 4 banger chevy, the LE5, Its been out for a little while now and is quite popular in most of their I4 engines.

The LY7 is the V6. This power curve shows me to get the most out of my engine, I should run it up to redline every time ;)

Cool site though, Ive never seen it before.

Heres the link to the good stuff... ie, the power curve for the V6

Yea! That's why I posted it so we could have access to both now.

I'm not understanding why running to redline is getting the most from the engine. Torque is doing the job not horsepower. Torque times RPM divided by 5252 is horsepower if I'm not mistaken. The four banger runs out of breath long before redline. Pulling the shift so the next gear keeps the RPM close to peak torque or above it I would think is best. The V6 has a much more flat torque curve out towards redline but even then past 5500 to 6000 rpm sure it'll pull but will it give you the best ET in the quarter mile. Personally I'd shift at 5500 to 5800 in the 4 cylinder and maybe 5700 to 6000 in the V6 and even that might be somewhat high. Someone that runs at a track would have better input but I just don't see redline being the best for performance or engine durability.

With the 6, the very slight difference in torque is easily compensated by being higher up in the RPM band when you hit the next gear, ie... the engine isnt bogging down right when you shift, it puts you much higher up in the power band.

I thought mine ran a little better on E85... I have the LE9 4 banger. Crap mileage though....
