: Spoiler
Malibooboo 04-04-2008, 05:00 AM One of the dealers I visited had a Malibu with a Sport Wing (spoiler). If I remember correctly, it was about a $500 option. As I was driving home yesterday I saw a white Malibu with the sport wing. Is this a GM OEM part or a third party product? I don't see the sport wing as a dealer installed accessory listed in the brochure.
Anyone here have a sport wing?

Don't have one, but you can find them here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CHEVROLET-MALIBU-SPOILER-Wing-Painted-2008-UP_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33638QQihZ023QQitemZ 360039192682QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW) and their web site is here (http://www.sportwing.com/). I know others who have purchased other items from Sportwing and they have been pleased with their products.
I would have to see one in person. I'm affraid it would spoil the clean lines of the Malibu.
We all have our own tastes. If not we would all have black Malibus with the same interior and same wheels. :)

I've seen the spoilers installed on the older generation Malibus and think they did a decent job of sporting the look up a bit. This generation, I'll also need to see it up close before I'll decide.

Looks like a two man job and I'm not going to volunteer :D

I'd take it to a body shop.
mongo615 04-04-2008, 05:30 PM I agree with Lee...the clean lines and the high rear deck make it look great without a spoiler, IMHO.
sunscapeJeff 04-09-2008, 08:29 PM Has anyone installed a spoiler yet? I've only seen one or two out there, at spoilersdirect, I think, and I really don't like them. I'm thinking something more subtle, along the lines of what the Camry or Infiniti G35 has. Maybe with a *slight* touch of chrome on it.
Anybody seen anything like that?

08MalibuLeaser 04-10-2008, 01:18 PM Strange - I thought I would be a fan of the Malibu spoiler --- I'm not in this case...

Here are two spoilers I found online (also includes some aftermarket grilles). I like the first spoiler (on the left). I am considering one for my blue '08.

First spoiler looks better than the second. It is more of a lip than a spoiler.

I agree.
Although they mention a hardware package is included, they also say the spoilers are mounted with double-sided tape. If the hardware package only includes the tape accelerant, the second spoiler may be easily ripped off in a car wash.
To keep the site tidy, I'm going to combine this Thread with the Thread referenced earlier by Malibooboo.
NJMalibuman 05-13-2008, 06:10 AM The lip is nice, but that four post spoiler doesn't look bad because its thin not think and plays off the rear better then that other spoiler.
dsrtdukone 05-13-2008, 06:11 AM My dealer uses these guys for aftermarket spoilers.......

I personally am not a fan of spoilers on these cars. Maybe I just haven't seen enough Malibus WITH them though.

I think that's the kind of spoiler that I was thinking of. I'd like to see a picture of the whole car, though. It's hard to tell if it looks good or not.

Malibooboo 05-23-2008, 06:19 AM I saw a white Malibu LS with the spoiler on the way to work this morning. I'm warming up to it.
MiracleMalibu 05-27-2008, 08:27 AM I am the same way Lee, I love the clean lines that the Malibu has...But who knows...I might see one and love it!
espo19047 05-27-2008, 02:21 PM If you look at the link on my signature you will find a spoiler for the 2008 Malibu on the wishlist. It is made specifically for the Malibu by GM. It is a Genuine GM accessory and coverd by the warranty. The best one I have seen yet. It can be ordered form the site and sent to your door! contact me for help.
USA1fan 05-28-2008, 03:37 AM I don't see a spoiler on the 2008 Malibu's Wishlist page.

I checked the wishlist and you are right it is not there. Click on Chevrolet above the wishlist and go to Malibu and the spoiler can be found there. It is there in a few colors and primer. Use chevymalibuforum in the promotion code box to receive a discount.
potpie 06-11-2008, 12:52 AM go to www.wooddashexperts.com they have some great wings cheap and painted to match using your color code for $200.00!
mrbill 06-27-2008, 02:28 PM For the 08-09 set I think the spoiler that would set this model off would be the less obtrusive versions. One's Ive heard called "Duck Tail". They sit flush on the trunk using double stick tape and only stick up an inch or so.
Not interested in the Rice Burner tuner look. This car is way to sophisticated for that.

Agreed. A spoiler would look good on my '07 Malibu, but the '08 looks good enough as it is.
