Chevrolet's European product line is mostly comprised of re-hashed Korean products that started out life as Daewoo products. But with the introduction of the 2013 Malibu, Chevrolet is hoping to change things a little by offering what it sees as a "premium" product for its European flagship.

The European market Malibu 164 hp 2.0-liter gasoline or a 169 hp 2.4-liter diesel four-cylinder, more in line with European offerings that favor small engines for both tax and fuel efficiency reasons. On the other hand, the Malibu is a physically large vehicle compared to competitive sedans, and consumer reaction to such a vehicle is unpredictable.

Car looks great, but it needs more power IMO.

It is without a doubt a better looking car and wish I had that design right now! I think it is going to be a much too heavy car for what kind of horsepower/engine they are going to have on this model!

I have said this more than once, a four cylinder with a turbo would be more suitable! Decent horsepower with decent MPG!

GM has done it already with some of their other Vehicles! Having an option for a high powered V6 that produces at least 300 hp with the current V6 MPG rating would also be a nice option! Now if they had these two options, this would really get my attention but will I ever buy another Malibu is the big question!

Draped in red like that it's hard to see the bulging hood or notice that the bowtie is so big that it looks like a Cruze. That color is so beautiful that it'd make a Yugo pretty!

I'd like to design the looks and some of the features myself. I'd stick with simple stuff instead of all this homologation that prevents you from doing any meaningful mods. Mine would be a modder's car!

But I digress...

GM wants to make that their flagship but AutoGuide states that it's already bigger and heavier than most European cars. So what's the average person gonna do? Look, buy a Peugot, and make disparaging remarks about the over-indulgence of Americans. Oh well, I guess we deserve it.

I'll drive off in my fat V6 now. (Or is that P.h.a.t. ... ? ;))
