: WeatherTech Trunk Liner

I ordered the WeatherTech Trunk Liner, with winter coming up and all, on the 18th of September. It is now the 30th. It said "Please allow up to 7-10 Business Days for Delivery"

It has been (*does math*) 8 days and I am getting very anxious. We had a bad storm fly through here a day ago and supposedly a few "Delivery and other product Transportation" vehicles ran off of the road or were damaged in the wreck. I am very concerned that my liner may be on one of those trucks...

I have been watching the website tracker, and it has been saying "Tracking Status: In Progress" since the day after I purchased it (Previously it said "Processing").

Can anyone experienced with WeatherTech offer some relief? I know I am freaking out, but I am concerned greatly. They have already taken the money from my account, which I hope this means the liner is on its way.

REALLY? Ugh...I just ordered the Floor Liners from them yesterday afternoon for my new '09 and was just wondering when the "in process" was going to change. Skipped the trunk liner, for the time being, but I wonder if that makes any difference...

I ordered 3 sets of the Weathertech floor mats one set for my soon to arrive Malibu one set for my mother inlaws, and one set for our Silverado. All were ordered last Monday and arrived to my door the next day. :D I only live 45 min. from their location in Ontario though. Have them installed in the silverado already and they work and look really good!

Well, that's good...hopefully our orders come soon! A little over a day later, mine still says In Process, so we'll see.

Rub it in, why don't yeah? I live in Tennessee, in the middle of mountains, so it will probably take even longer than the 7-10 day period. If I don't get them by next Friday, I'm pitching a fit to customer service.

Imagine a twenty dollar piece of rubber custom-cut to fit the trunk of your Malibu, and then paying 137 dollars, respectively, to purchase it and have it shipped to your door.

Rip off or smart choice? It looks good to say "WeatherTech Trunk Liner" when you sell it :D Maybe they won't deduct me for the scratch on the bumper now.

Here in Tennessee, where we get little icy conditions (but when we do, it hurts terribly), I would recommend it.

I am a guy that should have a truck, I lug around lots of stuff and sometimes I am not the most careful with it. The trunk liner is a must to ensure I don't destroy the stock flooring before this time next year.

I was going to get the liner too, but really never put anything in my trunk but bags or boxes (if anything at all), so the Premium mat in my new one will suffice. Plus, for $140, it seemed a bit much.

I still hope my floor liners come ASAP. I've been using a set of cheap, thin vinyl mats in my last 2 vehicles that I will continue to use in the 'Bu if need be...but come on WeatherTech. Let's get our stuff rolling!

Na, a little farther away than that :D

I called the customer support line and was surprised by how quickly I got to talk to a person.

Ends up that demand for the 2008 and 2009 model products are so high that they can't cut them as fast as they need to ship them, and my liner should be on the road by tomorrow, and should be on my door step Friday (I can't see how it hits the road Thursday and gets here Friday if they're in Canada).

I was warned that if I did not get a tracking number in the e-mail or the package on my door by Tuesday to call them again.

I think Canadian customers get ours from the Canadian supplier and I would imagine since it is a different website for the U.S. yours would come from a supplier down there.

Truitt

That would make good sense. I was a little worried, being they have just "cut and prepared" the product and "not yet packaged." It's been almost three weeks now...

I just called to check on my Floor Liners that were ordered Monday but still said in progress too.

The rep was VERY nice and said they were coming from their Kansas warehouse and would be shipping out either today or tomorrow, and then of course I would get the tracking info by email. Sounds good to me.

I had a similar experience, beach. She was very nice and curtious, but is still unnerved me that after two, going on three, weeks, they still had not shipped.

She did say I should receive my e-mail detailing the tracking information today or tomorrow. I did not get it yet, so I'll assume it'll come in tomorrow.

Likewise...nothing. If I do not get an e-mail or a status change by Monday after class (5:50pm) I will be making a phone call.

It has almost been a full month since I placed my order; trunk mats for the Malibu can't be that high in demand.

Well, after a phone call and a reply to my e-mail sent to me by WeatherTech, I finally got them, I believe, to push my order up by being so annoying and persistent. I hinted in the e-mail of an "off-brand products similar to yours at Advanced Auto for nearly twenty dollars less" just right down the road from here. I think that was the hook :D

Yeah, I'm starting to wonder if the "it should be shipping out later today or tomorrow" comment is just one to keep you hooked, only to not be fully true. We'll see, but I'm still 100% confident in them and the product.

Weird, because years back, in 2004, I ordered a full set of mats for our Suburban and had them in, I think, 3 days, no sweat.

Again, no change on my mats either.

Last Thursday, the rep said they'd ship out either that day or Friday. They didn't. Called today and was quickly told "you'll get an email from FedEx immediately when they ship", but that they still haven't yet. I think they might be getting a lot of such calls now, because her response was pretty quick on that. So, like my Malibu, some day sometime.

Sweet sweet, it came in and I am very impressed. It is held down by the plastic bolts that hold our cloth/cardboard material upright and together. I found that very clever. I did notice that they do not have a 2008 Malibu Trunk Liner...the receipt says "2007 GM-Saturn Aura 4dr Sdn Cargo Liner Blk" (I chose the black one, the only one available, and after some research I found that the Aura portion of the site offers a light gray and a black [essentially dark gray] liner).

So, if you want a light gray instead of the dark gray / black, just order an Aura liner. They seem to be the same thing. I also received a lifetime warranty that it will never rip or become smoothed, no matter the workload or abuse it goes through, and all that it requires to redeem is to pay for the shipping to (the worn product) and from (the new / repaired product).

I think that's nifty :D

Pictures coming soon.

Sounds great. I'm still thinking about the trunk liner, but don't know, given my uses.

Now if I could just get them to send me my mats, that sit in the never ending "In Progress". They make quality stuff and no one can match these mats or the trunk liner for the Malibu, so eventually it will be worth it.

What is the benefit of the WeatherTech Matts etc?

My dealer throw in the premium mats for the car, I'm just wondering if its worth purchasing the WeatherTech Matts or just stick with what I have/ Additionally I'm wondering if its worth getting the trunk liner.. Your thought?

Oh and why is the prices so high in Canada compared to U.S Prices our dollar isn't that bad a few months ago it was even with the Greenback!

Very simple. Carpeted mats vs. vinyl/rubber. The carpeted mats, especially the thicker and embossed premium ones, look and feel great but just turn into a mess with anything but clean and dry shoes, etc. Vinyl mats or the molded full floor liners like the WeatherTech ones still get dirty but can then just be washed off and are clean again, without staining or slopping up carpet.

I prescribe to the school that carpeted mats look and feel nice, but why would I want carpeting protecting the same carpeting underneath it and getting filthy? Hence, all season mats go in every one of my cars, even if they aren't as visually attractive--very useful. Especially if you live in a really wet or snowy climate.

Truitt

The mats are great if you live in the back roads or are subjects to mud, snow, and wet conditions frequently (Such as myself, but I'd rather protect the trunk with my luggage and just have some cheap plastic cut to fit my floor boards).

The cargo liner is if you tend to throw random things in there (anywhere from a bass guitar to a stack of eight 2x4s).

They are extremely reliable and never wear (I wouldn't say "never" but let's say I had one for 5 years and never had any problems), as well as easy to clean. Pull it out and if you're good enough to have a high-pressured sprayer have at it. Let it dry, and it looks new.

Question for 09 LTZ Owners..

Can you verify in the driver side that you only have one plastic thingy to slide the weathertech floor mat in? I seem to have two and the matt won't fit snug! The passenger side and the rear are perfectly fine.

Thanx for the help

Where is there a second one? There should be one on the back left corner of the driver's floor pan space, and nothing else. Actually, I don't know how there would be another one, since it's an integral part of the carpet.

If you have 2, then your regular mat would stick up too...right?

No the matts fit fine I can't fit the weathertech because of the two blasted pieces.. One in the back left and back right.. The weathertech fits in the first one fine but the second one makes it stick out...

Is the second one attached into the carpeting just like the correct left one?

Really weird, still, because the carpet is molded with the one in there...I have no idea how a second would come about. And I have to ask again, is there not a lump at all on the right with the regular mat because it has to sit over top a 2nd stub without a hole for it to go into?

No both of them are glued in! I'm going to speak to my delaership to see if this is normal. I took my car to the Canadian dealership of Weathertech and he checked it out and said both pieces were glued to the carpet!

The funny thing is that the first mat doesn't fit but the premium matts do!

After my September 29th order, my awesome tan floor liners arrived today!

Threw them in my G6 trunk and now just wait to take delivery of my Malibu, to lay them down. It took quite a while, but I'm pleased nonetheless as no one can match the WeatherTech product, in cases like this.

Now I just keep going back and forth on that trunk liner I don't think would ever be tested with my lack of trunk use, but still seems like a good idea. For now, premium Malibu trunk mat it will remain.

Spoke to the Canadian dealer again, WeatherTech has been notified and they are investigating this issue. It appears that 09's with Premium matts get two pieces glued to the carpet instead of one!

I will chime in when I have more proof of this as it will take some time for WeatherTech Engineers to confirm this. If anyone with an 09 can confirm if they have two or one pieces glued to their carpet on the front driver side that would be great!

I was just in my soon to be '09 today for a spin, but didn't think to look at the floor closely...just bare carpet and a paper mat for the time being.

BUT, an '09 owner here already has the WeatherTech Floor Liners installed in his, with no issues:

Hi bluestone,

Did you order the premium matts for you Malibu? I spoke to Weathertech last week and they have no resolution yet. They are still "Investigating" the issue.
However they had a big show in Las Vegas so I don't think they investigated that much with the issue.

Well keep everyone posted from those who I have spoke to with two hocks one of the hocks were simply cut off. I am loath to do this unless it is absolutley necessary, however I think it should not be and WeatherTech should be able to make one with two holes for both hocks.. It shouldn't matter if you don't have the second hock with one hock it should still work..

Just ordered the WeatherTech Cargo Liner for the '08.

Reason: I bought the WeatherTech Floor Liners and they are amazing - the quality, fit and finish is outstanding. It convinced me to go ahead and purchase the Cargo Liner.

Besides, I'm tired of everything sliding around on the carpeted mat.
