I'm trying to get another Sub-Forum started for the "Do It Yourselfer". As previously suggested the first post could be a reference point for part numbers.

Thanks for the link Miracle, but I had to re-enter all the vehicle data.

Interesting info on the filter page, it shows that the 08 malibu has up with 6 engine choices, all the way up to a 3.9l.

One dissapointing listing though, it says that the fuel filter is non-servicable. I wonder if that means it doesn't exit or if a special dealer tool is needed to get at it. Maybe the sock on the internal tank pump is all it has.

Does the Malibu have cabin filters to replace? Those are an absolute bear to replace on my Avalanche and Grand Prix.

I bet the 6 listings for the 08 Malibu include the engine lineup for the 'Classic' models too. There are three for the new model, and only the 3.6l is really all new, though I believe the four cylinder has had some revisions?

Fuel filter- bet on it being the in-tank variety. The 07 Avalanches were the same. For that matter, I believe somewhere around 04 or 05, most GM full sized SUVs and trucks went that way.

And GM stopped putting air filters in most newer models too- too many customers getting frustrated or confused I guess. It's something I'd like, but one of those 'invisible' things they can leave off to save a few pennies or so for every car they build (like glove box lights, underhood lights, keylocks on the passenger door and trunk).

My PM's have been answered by Admin. It should be up shortly.

I'm looking into getting the authorization level to create new Sub-Forums on my own. Admin leaves us pretty much alone, which is not a bad thing, but my only access to them is via PM. If they don't visit often, PM's just linger until they do.
