You want cheap? Purchase the OE Goodyear Eagle LS2s or Hankook h426s.
You want great tires? Michelin Hydroedge are on clearance (still higher price than the OE tires). They are exceptional all season tires, especially in adverse conditions. They also have a 100k warranty if I remember correctly.
MXV4s are a very good fit for the 4-cylinder Malibu, they are a little on the pricey side, but I would say it's worth it. I'm getting a set of MXM4s soon. They offer better performance and quieter ride than MXV4s but cost even more and have a shorter tread life warranty.
