Just purchased 09 Malibu LTZ in August, A/C works fine. Now that weather in Las Vegas is changing (cold) I tried the heater. Nothing happens but cold air. I followed the Owners handbook on adjustment with no luck. Am I looking at an expensive repair or have I just missed something. This is my first newer Chevy. I dive a 95 Silverado P/U since 1995.
Between the fan and mode control knobs is the display, beneath which are 2 switches to adjust the temp up/down. If you've adjusted the temp up and it still doesn't get warmer then you'll need to see if the temp door is moving or not. If not then the actuator may be unplugged, damaged, or needs the BCM relearned. If it moves then the heater core may be plugged or the hose routed around it. (Hey, it's a used car and you don't know what you don't know!)

Not to sound dumb (I'm more into motorcycles) what is the BCM. I went out and bought a Hynes manual today, however I haven't had a chance to look at it. I've had the temp setting up to 90 with no success. I'll need to find the temp door and the actuator, before looking for the heater core. Thanks for your reply. I promised myself that I'd never work on a car again, guess I was wrong. Ha Ha
