Nevermind...using https://my.chevrolet.com I setup an account and found that my warranty goes well into 2014. Now to get under the beast and ensure that it is indeed the gasket.

@soundhertz, please send me a private message with the VIN and I can search the “in service” date.

Any GM dealer should be able to research your VIN I would think. But it sounds as though you have it figured out anyway. If NRC is giving you the run around go to a different dealer. B

I own this car now and I also had the gas gauge issue. I've had a few problems with my car over heating. Not sure what it was the first time but it was covered under warranty. Second time it wasn't but they said..no they claim it was a different issue. It was a gasket. Not the head 1 tho. It broke less than a year later. They fixed it for free. This was in the fall. Well. .. its overheating again. Lovely. Crappy car. Oh and the sensors on this crap car keep breaking too. 2 tire sensors. A door sensor..so it always thinks it's ajar. Sometimes it tells me the passenger air bag needs 2 b replaced. But that's only when it's really cold or really hot. Will call them again 2moro. Fun fun
