Stereo System Suggestions

Hello Bu owners, so finally have time to start working on my stereo upgrade, i sat down and made a small wish list for Bu' i wanted to know what you guys thought and if you guys have any suggestions, i would really appreciate your input before i got drop off my sasavings....lol

Headunit: Sony XAV 64BT

Sounds like way too much work installing three amps, go with something like this, IMO

Pioneer subs are great.

And for that kind of money for the speakers I would seriously consider getting in to something like Morel, Hertz, etc

I wish you guys looked into some of the other stereo threads before you posted about them haha. I can get you something that will kill that setup in SQ and cost you less than half lol

I worked with a couple other malibu guys the last day or so on getting them a few SKAR packages and they seem to like what we discussed.


Maybe look into 2-IVX 12s, SKAR 85.4 4 channel (you don't need 3 diff amps lol) Skar 800.1, 1 SK VXI component set for front doors and pillers, 6x9 coax for back panels?

thank u guys, i really appreciate ur inputs, the only reason why i went with 3 amps was to make sure i got enough rms power delivered, as far brands im a newbie when it comes to it. I tend to buy name brands to avoid any misleadin wattage hype.
I"ll look into a 5 channel now, as far as brands idk.

as fas as SKAR i never heard of it BECAUSE i am blind by all those major brands (alpine, pioneer, jbl, sony....) i saw the links and the prices awesome but besides rms n peak power what else should i look into?

When you buy some of these brands......you pay for the name.


There are a ton of new companies out there offering the same quality, but for a fraction of the cost. I could name 25 other brands i'd run other than those speakers but i've been a round the block a little bit when it comes to these under the radar brands..



I'm sure others can chime in if they have heard/seen SKAR in action.

What does the HU have to do with the RMS Output of the amps? Unless you're somehow referring to the output voltage.. Doubt that's an issue. Almost all HU's are 3.5v minimum now, most being 4+

PreOut ratings are done at full volume. Its wether or not you reach distorting before this output.

On average your 4v ratings will see 2-2.5v output clean. Just spec out amps with lower input ratings or expect to purchase a line driver.

As far as equiptment.....if you wanna be just another number your on the right track. Altho resourceful Crutchfield overprices for their conveniences.

If you feel to have a customer loyalty and assistance in a listening goal there are people out there that will help from purchase to installation.

Most resources are free.....
