SO i just bought my 2010 malibu, it only has 14k miles on it and its super clean inside and out. however when i put it on the lift at work today to undercoat it, i noticed someone cut a big hole in the floor under the drivers seat. looking at the hole and placement the only logical thing i could come up with it they tried removing the bolt from the seat
does anyone else have this hole? or some kind of explanation

Well I came to a conclusion. This is the most logical, my car needs a drivers seat buckle. In order to do the buckle you have to pull the seat. My guess is the cage that is on the under side of that bolt spun nd they tried going through the bottom to get to it. You can tell someones been in there casuse the bolt is kinda stripped and the paint around the boltis gone lime it was just spinning.
@010malibu, I’m sorry to read about what you’ve found with your new Malibu. Did you purchase the vehicle as a Certified Pre-Owned car from a dealership?
if you feel that the car has an unsafe seat belt then i would contact the dealer. I don't know if your state requires the dealer to inspect the car and list any safety defects. If it does then you may have a claim.
