I have now made my first long weekend trip. Total about 600 km. The car is excellent companion for the driver in highways. Ride is smooth as silk, cruise control works fine, navi gives correct route information, she knows her finnish surroundings (gas stations, hotels, restaurants...) and it even talks quite good finnish! I also got time to test the voice recognition. The commands are in english and she talks in english. Well, that doesn't bother me 'cause I think I speak adequate english. At least my car understands it.
Cool picture! Mind if I ask where that is and what that tower is in the background?
That is weird that you have 2 languages in the car. Is it possible to change the English to Finnish? I would like to think so. If I was driving a Volvo or Saab and the navi was in English but the rest of the car was in Swedish I would be sunk! But that's because in the US we don't make learning another language a requirement in our schools. As such I took only 3 years of French instruction and it was softened by splitting the first book into 2 of those years. So French I was 7th and 8th grades and French II was 9th grade. Because I was promoted to Vo-Tech in 10th-12th grades (computer instruction) there wasn't enough time in the schedule to keep French so it was dropped. Not my choice - it was automatically scheduled that way for me.
Anyhow, that is neat that your first trip was such a success. Are you in a position to share how your mileage was?

That's Näsinneula. The highest observation tower in the Nordic coutries. There is an amusement park with dolphinario and lots of other things in that cape where it is. The picture was taken from the other side of a bay. There is a small harbor.
I don't think that there is a possibility to change audio recognition language. I have already changed english to finnish in the car config. And that changed everything else but this in finnish. The finnish manual also tells that the commands are in english.
I monitored the whole trip how the cruise control on a highway worked. It consumed gasoline from 3.1 l/100km to 9.0 l/100km. It's hard to say what the average was but I think it's very close to what Chevy has told. Which is 6.0 l/100km. And it's hard to say because the car still shows average of total mileage that car has been driven. I haven't reset that yet.
I have to tell you that the car rise attention here. I have owned the car for two weeks now and I have two incidents. First was when I came from the grocery store when I have just got the car few days back. A guy in front of local bar shouted at me that: "Is that your car?" When I realized he was shouting to me, I answered yes. He ran into the bar and there comes three "Harley Davidson kind of guys". And I was thinking: "What now...". Well, they just wanted to see the car and talk about it.
The other happened yesterday on a highway. BMW speeded far back right next to me. It was full of young men. They were about a minute on the other lane beside me and the it vanished to a horizon again. I think they were checking the car also...
hmm 600 km is really a good distance to test any car. Because you can check every thing of the car from engine to suspension. I guess you have a good experience of that long drive. Do you have anyother photos of that trip, if you have then please share them. Thanks for sharing you views.
