I finally got it on correctly. It's as close a color as I could find plus makes the car look a bit more stealthy. Heck it may be The RATT opposite: a safety reflector in the front?
Being a car painter all one has to do is buy some 3m masking tape
Take a simple under the sink scuff pad & scuff the front & rear bowties
Carefully tape around the imitation chrome
Use newspaper to cover the surrounding area from overspray
Apply light coats of SEM Promax or some other quality black trim paint until covered
Less than $20 & enough left over for future touch ups
