Replacement muffler?

Replacement resonator?

2008 classic 3.5. I have a crack in the what I guess is the resonator? It looks like a muffler, but it's further up, almost under the drivers seat. Shop tells me they replace the whole exhaust as a single unit, can't this piece be swapped by itself? There is a flange before and after this unit as I recall, even if not you should be able to cut it out right?

I found this part on rock auto that seems like the right thing... http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=1398371&cc=1433826&jnid=492&jpid=0

The same part isn't listed for the 08 classic for some reason though. This car is worth very little at this point, so replacing the whole exhaust is out of the question, I'd just like to not sound like a jet taking off.

Any muffler place can do this job for cheap.

I just threw out the Magnaflow suggestion because the shop you were talking about sounds like they want to replace everything with new OE parts for a small fortune.
