Hankook tires

My 2012 came with 17" hankook Optimus h725. I've never had this brand of tire so I decided to research. Most reviews have been negative and most would not purchase again. What are your opinions on them?

They're better than the normal goodyear eagle LS2s on most Malibu models. From what I've read, they're more than adequate for the 4-cylinder Malibu. When you replace them, I recommend a set Michelins.

The hankook Optimus h725 will last along time my buddy has 40,000 miles on his 2008 chevy malibu 2LT and tires still have 85% tire life left.

Never heard of Hankook? You must not buy that many tires. They're a fairly common ful line tire manufacturer, like a Bridgestone or a Goodyear - they make tires to fit all kinds of applications. The Optimo 725s are a mediocre, budget-minded, middle of the road all season tire. It won't grip like an R-compound, it won't go through 8" deep snow like a studded Blizzak. It won't have ultra low rolling resistance, high carrying capacity, and it won't be astonishingly quiet or anything like that.

Why? Because those are things that you buy specialized tires for. Those are things you pay more money for.

Reading through the reviews, people seemed to be disappointed that these tires won't do things that tires at double the price will do. Go figure.

What they will do is give you an acceptable tread life, acceptable grip, and acceptable comfort and noise without costing a fortune.

So it depends what you're looking for. Would I go out to buy those tires specificaly? No. Would I buy them over some other brand if the price is right? You betcha. Would I replace them for the sake of replacing them on a Malibu? Hell no.

Hellllllllll no I wont be repalcing them for the sake of replacing them lol! Jk, but I've never had any dealings with the brand so I looked up the reviews. I was surprised how many people were complaining about them on tirerack.com I'm keeping those tires till they fall off.

I have heard good things, but have always had terrible luck with them personally. We use alot of hercules tires and they are cheap no name tires that people usually shun, but i put them on all my taxis with moderate success. I get on average four months out of them on cars that runs 24/7.

Just out of curiosity - how many miles does that equate to?

Each car will average about 130,000miles a year, so around 40,000 give or take.
The few vans i have are even higher but they require more maintenance all the way around, including tires. My daily driver is a retired cab with just over a 403,xxx miles on it.

If you take care of the tires and do your tire rotation on time they will last that long man.
