Alignment shop said the boot on the left side has a tear in it and I should change the entire axel (because the boot repair kits don't work and new axel is not very expensive). OK, I am sure I can handle the replacement myself but I wanted to know from folks that may have done it in the past if I should be aware of any tips or tricks at all.
TIA
Rick
Not a bad job, pretty straight forward. Sometimes the axles are a bit reluctant to pop out of the trans but keep at it and they come out. You'll find new shafts are actually very reasonable. I think the ones we get are in a Cardone box but who knows if Cardone makes them or reboxes someone elses part.
