Hey everyone. I have a 98 Chevy Malibu LS. The issue im having is something I started to notice about 8 months ago. It's slowly gotten worse up until now where it's something that needs to be fixed. Whenever I accelerate, my engine seems to limit itself at 2500 rpms. Essentially, it chokes at 2500 until i get up to about 60 ish mph. Any ideas on what this could be? I know most cars have certain error codes associated with RPM limits. If anyone has any ideas or help they could offer, I would really appreciate it.
Well, maybe I didn't mention that it doesn't happen all the time. I'd think a clogged catalytic converter would be a constant problem instead of a problem 50% of the time. Am I right?
