2004 Malibu blower resistor
I think this issue might have been addressed in a previous post, but I couldn't find any answers that fit my problem specifically.
I have a 2004 Malibu that was in a flood but had a complete electrical work over. Recently when it started getting cold the blower would not work. None of the air settings would work, then it would warm up and they would start working again. I'd taken to unscrewing and rescrewing the little blue box (the resistor?) which was located by the fuses on the passenger side... this worked for a while! There was possibly some kind of corrosion or loose component that would get re-set when I did this... Really, I have no idea. It's started to get really cold out and that little trick had stopped working. Maybe the temperature is not the correct variable, but I do need to get this figured out. Not only do I not have heat, but I do not have defrost, which is a problem in Minnesota.
If possible I would like to fix this myself. What's going on? Is this a part I can pick up somewhere, or would I be better off taking it in? Please help!
