2003 Malibu 3.1 - ignition switch

hi everyone

first off i would like to thank for everyones contribution to this forum..i really appreciate it..i think we all do

can someone please instruct on how to test the ignition switch (aka bypass it to start the car)

here's a summary of my starting problem on my 2003 malibu 3.1 v6 auto

car won't start - when i turn the key, its complete silence
instrument cluster dash lights come on
battery charged 12.48Volts
will not start with a 500Amp portable battery pack
does not make a difference if i start in neutral
NO Thefts Lights blinking
i can hear the fuel pump come on

after turning the key back and forth for 15 minutes the car starts
car will start regularly after it starts first time
if the car sits over night, it won't start right away i have to move key back and forth for 15 minutes

it seems that when the car is warm it starts fine......
what could the problem be?
