Default 2002 Malibu tire size

My girlfriend has a 2002 Chevy Malibu and i know it has 215/60/15 tires , but will 195/60/15 work ok on the car? whats the wheel width? thanks.

They will fit, but they will be narrower and will effect the speedo a little too.

Factory wheel width is 6" (15" x 6", 5 lug, and 115mm bolt pattern).

Here is a tire size calculator to see how much it affects the speedo. It is pretty much accurate, worked well to determine the speed difference for my friend's truck.

Neat! I put in my 225/50-18's and discovered that going to 245/45-18's would be closer to the same size than 235/50's or 235/45's. Great resource! Thanks for sharing.

it will fit it will look and ride funny and when the car is full it will sit alot lower because i had 195-65-15 i hated it
