Default Battery Group/Size on our Malibu's

Does anyone know offhand what Battery Group/Size we have? Or the dimensions? With either of those I can back into the other -- but any help would be appreciated.

It would be good to have up here also, as a search turned up nothing and we'll all be curious sooner or later. Thanks!

I'm investigating options for a higher duty replacement before some time up north this winter, along with the fact that i do use the map light, gps, etc... sometimes for a while once the car is off.

Which model? What battery group or size did you reference when purchasing?
I'm not going to go deep cycle, heard too many horror stories.

Probably going to buy from Costco... (Edit: IF they have a premium CCA battery)

Well, thanks for reading guys... I guess we can just have this in our records, but I found that we have a group 90 battery. Listed at 590CCA OEM in the ref guide i used but mine is 560CCA :-(.

Anyhow, it's AC delco # 4838 and model 90-6YR
Costco fitment 12
9 11/16" X 6 7/8" X 6 7/8"

Wanted to report that I have successfully installed the Costco Kirkland battery for my Bu 2008 LT2. I used Fitment code 8 (BCI group size 58). I had to improvised it a little bit: (1) The terminals are on the passenger side instead of the driver side (2) removed both L-shape rubber bracket which were wrapped around the cables (so I could easily twist the cable as the terminals are now closer) (3) For the plastic battery holder, just inserted it back in the gap without the screw: the holder sits very tightly between the battery and the box wall but can not go all the way to the bottom

This kirkland battery exceeds the OEM CCA (610 versus 590), also carries a good warranty 3 year replacement/100 months prorated.... Its price is fairly cheap, under $70..These are the main reasons I go with this battery instead the expensive exact fit version from other brand... Took me around 30 minutes to do the installation...

Do you have any pictures of the setup as it it now. I would be interested in seeing what you had to do.

Here they are. I later replaced the original plastic battery holder with a piece of wood. I used a wood stake that happens to have a perfect 1.5" width for the gap. I cut it to the length of the original holder, drill a hole in the center and screw the bolt back.

Note: the negative cable seems close to the piece of metal but when you put back to box cover, it will separate them. I was also able to put back the L-shape bracket on the positive cable to give some safety buffer between the 2 cables.
