Default Replacing Driver's Side Mirror, 3-prong or 5-prong?

So someone took off the driver's side mirror on my 2004 Malibu LT. I want to replace the mirror myself to save from an insurance claim (hit and run).

Looking online I can see there are two different types of mirrors, one that is an 8-hole, 5-prong , and one that is 8-hole, 3-prong plug.

Which one do I need, or how can I find out?

Here are two I am looking at: http://www.autopartsdeal.com/catalog...on|Driver+Side

THANKS!

The only way you may be able to tell is to take the right side mirror off and see what kind of connector it has on it.

Yeah, I was trying to avoid that if possible. I have to take the door apart to get the mirror off

That's part of doing your own work to save money. It's worth it 'cause you'll save money AND learn more about your car.

take the panel off that covers the bolts (or door panel depending on the year) and see what kind of connector it is. Other than that you could have the dealer do a parts search with the vin #

I was able to call a Chevrolet dealership with my VIN number and have them give me the part number and information I needed. Dealership wanted $106.84 for the mirror. I got it online for $48.04

Good deal, thanks everyone for your help
