This is close to what should be in the owners manual.
(h) Change automatic transmission fluid and filter (except 6-speed) if the vehicle is mainly driven under one or more of these conditions:
- In heavy city traffic where the outside temperature regularly reaches 90°F (32°C) or higher.
- In hilly or mountainous terrain.
- When doing frequent trailer towing.
- Uses such as found in taxi, police, or delivery service.
The except 6 speed
means the filter, as it is not serviceable like the 4 speed filter is. The fluid would still be changed. Look for the dipstick just rearward of the radiator, has a black knob on it with some writing I think. Check the fluid level after a good long ride or you'll get the level wrong. Very sensitive to temperature of fluid for correct reading of level on dipstick.
