Question Cd stuck in factory player!

I have a 2009 Malibu LT. Several weeks ago I played a cd in the factory player. Now the cd wont eject. When I try, it tells me theres no disc loaded. I've never had any issues with it in the past. Is there anything I can try before I take it by the dealership? Also, do they have to remove my player and send it off in order to remove the disc? I tried searching online and remember reading that. Anyone else had this issue? Thanks!

I'd just take it to the dealer if your under warranty. How many miles are you at?

Probably won't work but you can try removing battery voltage from the radio for a minute or two and see if it ejects after power is restored. Sometimes they logic lock for whatever reason. Make sure the key is out of the ignition when you do this. If you inadvertantly remove the battery cable with the key on, you'll drain the OnStar backup battery and you'll have to replace it. If that doesn't work, pretty much back to the dealer.

An alternative method to the battery disconnect procedure is to pull the radio fuse & reinstall it. That saves you the ecm relearn & there's no issue with the onstar b-u-b. Fuse is in the cabin fuse box behind the passenger side console pullout panel.

Another alternative method is to switch to an Ipod & ditch the old CD dinosaur technology entirely.
