LED Bulb question

Hey everyone, I just purchased a 2010 Malibu LTZ v6 today and I was wondering if I put led turn signals in the front would I need to install load resistors? Thanks for the help guys.

Short answer, Yes.

The BCM determines the flash rate and even sends a fake "blinkup" sound to the left front speaker. If the load is not what it expects (too little, too much), it will hyperflash. Installing the resistors needs to be done across the turn (+) and (-), mounting the resistor on or near metal and away from plastic to help prevent melting stuff. It can also just hang freely if you choose.

Awesome, I was confused on if it would or wouldn't because the tail lights are already LED. Thanks for the info man.

Hey @Logan_Clinton,

Here is an example of the resistor, that will eliminate the hyperflickering problem:

Logan, just curious, since I see you just bought the Malibu, but are you aware of what is involved in changing a front turn signal bulb? You just want to be sure you are comfortable taking the front bumper off.

Just in case he doesn't realize what's involved, there are plenty of how-to videos on YouTube on replacing the bulbs on these cars. It's actually not that difficult in the end, just time consuming and annoying.
