Aftermarket infotainment system using stock controls

2015 LS owner here. I was wondering if I were to install a system from amazon or the like, would I be able to control it via the steering wheel and/or the control panel below the current radio installed?

Yes. I've installed such a unit that I got from AliExpress and overall it works very well.

I recently ordered the 10.4" Vertical Screen Android Navigation Radio with back up camera from Phoenix android Radios. I'm still awaiting its arrival but will update.

Re: Aftermarket infotainment system using stock controls

Hey Caspa54, I'm trying to install the same unit in my Malibu but I'm having issues with getting 2 cables off the stock head unit monitor and processor from releasing and can't figure out how to get them off. How did you release those cables to get them off? The cable going to the monitor has a red tab on it and the cable going to the processor is the one with the big block connector going to that. Can't get them things off for nothing. Once I get those off I'd be in business.
