Are you still live and well. I found you in past posts and you seem like you know what your doing. Before I go off with my problem I want to know if your still on board here.

on one post you asked for a VIN to check if he had remote start. Can you see if I do? VIN# 1G1ZC5E01CF3294403 My remote control has the remote start button but nothing happens when I perform the function. I press the lock then hold the start button but I get nothing at all.

    thanks for your help.

I noticed you helped someone with a steering issue on a 2008 Malibu. We live in Iowa and it was really cold with lots of Ice yesterday. This morning the power steering light came on and the steering became extremely difficult. We were at a drive-in so it was not a serious event. We were able to pull over, turn the car off, restart it, and the issue was resolved. I looked for where to add p/s fluid and found the post where you mentioned 10183A, and I am wondering if I could still get this vehicle looked into for that at no charge or what as I am extremely poor. The car also has like 115k miles. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I saw that you helped someone out with a P0496 code on their Malibu with some information. Would you mind passing it along to me as well. I have a 2010 Malibu v6. It looks pretty straightforward, but I'm just wondering if I'm missing something

    Hi, Rodents,

I have this intermittent P0128 on my 2012 Malibu 4 cylinder. Temperature gauge sometimes does not go up at all. After googling on the forum I believe it is due to the faulty thermostat. So I got the part and started to work on it. But when i opened the hook and found that the thermostat housing is at a very awkward place. There was metal pope right above the inner bolt of the housing blocking access to the bolt. I checked youtube and two other guys posted videos about replacing thermostat on their 2010 and 2011 Malibu and the metal pipe does not exist in their video. Do you happen to know the procedure to replace thermostat on 2012 Malibu? What else do i need to take off to get access to the thermostat housing?

    Thank you very much!

    Hi Rodents,
I'm looking for correct information, not just speculative generic seem to know your stuff.

I'm dealing with my friend's '07 3.5L giving a low oil level warning intermittantly. Oil level is good. Replaced sensor, was okay for a day, then problem is back. Cleaned and inspected connector, no fix. Where do you recommend I go next?

    Hello Rodents,

Just wanted to say thanks for the info on the afterblow. I had my dealer's shop turn it on since I was getting that nasty smell when I turned on the AC. I also changed the cabin air filter. I hope that fixes the problem. I have seen water on my garage floor so I am pretty confident that the drain is not plugged.

Can you answer a question about the dealer's BG44K throttle body cleaning service. They recommended it at 30,000 miles. I think that may be overkill. $170 after only 30K and no issues going on. I told them no thanks. What do you recommend for throttle body service? I have the 2013 Malibu Eco with the 2.4 liter.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey, I was reading your posts in the steering and suspension sticky thread and you seem like you have a good idea on what is going on with the Malibu. I have an 09 Malibu 2.4L and have a buzz/rattle type noise near the gauge cluster/lh a pillar area while driving. It only happens around 2Krpm under light load/cruise speed on the highway. It is definitely not in the roof or anything to do with the headliner or sunroof. The noise sounds like plastic vibrating and is light sounding. My question is have you had any experience with rattles or buzz noises from the left side of the dash or possibly around the firewall or engine compartment that may cause a noise like this? Thanks for your help.
