  1. 2013 ECO 2.4L VVT Solenoid Replacement

Gen 8 Do It Yourself Maintenance
It's not a "fuel cleaner" and if you put it in the gas tank, it was the wrong product. Any car with an engine using direct fuel injection like your 2013 Malibu should be treated with top engine cleaner as a preventative measure every couple years if not more often. It's part of maintenance...
  2. 2017 Malibu 18,000 miles reduced engine power

    Gen 9 Problems/Service Issues/Troubleshooting
Keep taking the car back as long as you still have warranty left. Also consider going to a different Chevy dealership for service, sounds like you're getting jerked around by people that have no idea what they're doing.
  3. 2013 ECO 2.4L VVT Solenoid Replacement

Gen 8 Do It Yourself Maintenance
P2097 sounds like you have DI carbon build up in the ports. It comes back as the air-fuel ratio being too rich because carbon is obstructing airflow in the ports and backs of the intake valves. You can either run several top engine cleaner treatments like Seafoam or CRC, or you might need a...
  4. Will the axle-back Borla exhaust fit on 2014 Chevy Malibu 2.0?

    Gen 8 General Discussion
You can go to any muffler shop and have them give you suggestions or an estimate for an axle back set up. If you look up the individual part numbers, you could even buy the same mufflers used in the borla kit and have the shop fabricate a custom y-pipe.
  5. Will the axle-back Borla exhaust fit on 2014 Chevy Malibu 2.0?

    Gen 8 General Discussion
No. That's for the 2016+ Gen 9 Malibu, which it clearly states. Your Gen 8 is completely different. Next time you start a thread, you need to be much more clear and detailed with your question, and post a link to the product you're asking about.
  6. Hybrid Tire Pressure

    Gen 9 Hybrid Forum
Where do you see a tire's "recommended" pressure? Regardless of that, I'm telling you without any doubt, as long as it's below the max cold pressure listed on the tire's sidewall, you can run any replacement tire at the door's listing for 38 psi. If that makes you uncomfortable, run the tires...
  7. Hybrid Tire Pressure

    Gen 9 Hybrid Forum
Again, as long as you don't exceed your tire's maximum cold pressure rating (or keep them dramatically under-inflated), you can fill them however much you want. To my knowledge, tires do not recommend pressure, the vehicle does.
  8. Will the axle-back Borla exhaust fit on 2014 Chevy Malibu 2.0?

    Gen 8 General Discussion
Borla is an entire brand name. What part are you even looking at? Help us out here.
  9. Losing coolant no obvious leaks

    Gen 7 Problems/Service Issues/Troubleshooting
You're preaching to the choir, we have no control over the changes here. Years ago, your car information was part of the sign up process at this very website and it was displayed in the sidebar below your name. At some point, that sidebar was rendered obsolete by the powers that be. Now with...
  10. Losing coolant no obvious leaks

    Gen 7 Problems/Service Issues/Troubleshooting
You're asking for help on an engine issue and you haven't even mentioned the engine in your car. C'mon, it's right in the rules. Update your original post ASAP. https://www.chevymalibuforum.com/threads/section-rules-post-must-include-year-trim-engine-and-more.116654/
  11. 2013 Malibu LTZ Turbo acceleration problem, P0300

    Gen 8 Problems/Service Issues/Troubleshooting
I modified your title. Simply stating your year/model is not acceptable because it says nothing about your problem. Read the rules below: https://www.chevymalibuforum.com/threads/section-rules-post-must-include-year-trim-engine-and-more.116653/
  12. OEM upgrading

Gen 9 General Discussion (Generation 9)
@stephen12345q - assuming everything is wired correctly, you probably need programming for it to work properly (as stated several times in this thread). The BCM does not recognize the additional controls.
  13. rough idle at stop light

    Gen 7 Problems/Service Issues/Troubleshooting
Clean the throttle body and the MAF sensor. (Don't touch the MAF sensor, remove it and use a specified spray cleaner like CRC MAF cleaner.) Also, check the MAF connector for loose wires. It was a poor place for GM to cheap out.
  14. Cant find Valve Rocker Arm Oil Control

Gen 8 Do It Yourself Maintenance
They have an email for questions listed as "service [at] rockauto [dot] com" give that a try.
  15. Cant find Valve Rocker Arm Oil Control

Gen 8 Do It Yourself Maintenance
I'm not sure why you're bothering with rock auto after they already failed you the first time. I'm glad the VVT solenoids helped the driving issues.
  16. Chrome cladded wheels

Gen 7 Wheels, Tires & Suspension
You'd probably have better luck buying replacement wheels on ebay. I've never heard of anyone removing the chrome plating on wheels. I'm not sure how that would be done, what it would cost, and what it would look like underneath. Seems like a needlessly complicated solution for a simple problem.
  17. misfire question

    Gen 7 Problems/Service Issues/Troubleshooting
I gather from your post that the car was operating normally until you removed the first spark plug for a buying reference and then put it back in. If that's the case, the simplest and most obvious answer is that you did something in the course of your work that caused the issue. That makes it...
  18. How-To: Install Paddle Shifters

    How-To (Generation 8)
    Impressive work!
  19. Will it fit?

Gen 8 Wheels, Tires, & Suspension
Your post only mentions replacing the tires because they're worn out after 60k miles. You cannot put 19 or 20 inch tires on your factory wheels, and I apologize if you didn't mean to ask it that way. We have to take people at their word and it's unclear. Are you looking at purchasing larger...
  20. 2020 Malibu Auto Stop

Gen 9 General Discussion (Generation 9)
Don't ever wish you had auto start/stop. You're talking about 1 mpg for a system that has only proven itself to be a liability and an embarrassment for the driver. It's the epitome of unnecessary overcomplication.
