Whenever I start the car and have it in park with the doors unlocked, I can’t lock and unlock the doors, but as soon as I put the car in gear, all of the doors lock automatically. The fuse for the power locks is fine and the lock buttons are connected in the door panels.

I would venture the lock switch or it's wiring has a problem since the locks work when putting into gear.
