Alright.....I get an intermittent "door ajar" message with the accompanying dings and interior lights coming on as if a door is open. All doors a shut tight. After a few minutes it goes away, then randomly happens again from time to time.....every time we drive it. Also, I cant leave the car locked as the alarm randomly sounds off until you unlock it. I believe these problems to be related, but I cant find the source of the issue. Any ideas? By the way, I am in Germany with no service help to be found over here for GM products.

It's a door ajar switch. If you or a friend are able to follow schematics here they are for the 2008 models. The '09 and up are just about identical.

Worst case scenario as you work on it: You end up disabling the dome lights. But that will stop the issue in its tracks.

Next step is to figure out if you can determine which door, or if you already have, how to remove and overhaul the switch. I haven't done a door latch/switch before, but a lot of switches are able to be rebuilt if you're careful.
