Interesting day. Went to start my car, she turned over, but wouldn't start. My first reaction is somehow the battery needed a jump. Didn't leave any light on, or anything like that. Asked my father, he has an ear for these things. Didn't sound like a battery issue to him, he gave me the code reader, I turned it to on position and scanned, Nothing. While we were doing that, we noticed the lights were flickering. (I read that's anti-theft) Before we could do anything, they stopped flickering and turned back on consistently. My father suggested attempting starting her again. She started right up. (I had an obligation to someone else to pick them up from work and take them home, so I went and did that without turning the car off in between)

After I got home later that day, I let her sit for awhile parked in the driveway, and I did some other things. When I went back out there and started her, she started fine, everything seemed to be okay, but on my way to the bank, she died on me. Just no throttle. The gauges were working, and I can't remember if the no wash indicator was still on, but I eased into a stop with my hazards on, and started her again. First turn possibly second turn sounded really rough, but it started.

The entire way home I was paranoid. I know my motor mounts need to be replaced, and I thought maybe that might have something to do with it, maybe a terminal is loose, maybe it was anti-theft (But can anti-theft do that mid-drive???) I got home, started her a couple times, started fine each time. I don't know, but I have work, and while it's not that far, I really don't want this to keep happening. Any suggestions?

OH, and if you want to know more detail about my Malibu, I went into a LOT of detail in my about on my profile.

What section do ya want it in? Next i would make a signiìture...like i have...where it says your motor...year... model...milage etc.... personally i am not going through the site to read a profile....maybe others will. Just more of a hassle...for someone to help you.

If you have no codes coming up.... you might just have an intermittent connection issue of sorts... hopefully someone can help ya

I posted in your other thread...but a new idea came to mimd.... car died. ...but your hazard light were still working? Kinda throws out my other suggestions of battery wiring connection issues.

But i am still wondering about some intermittent connection of some sort

I would think maybe fuel pump, but like, would that cause the lights to blink, and I don't think it's the battery because the lights and it turned over. I'm hoping it's anti-theft and I can fix this a lot faster, instead of it being like maybe a computer problem or something. Because if it were that, then I would be screwed, even if it's a Chevy (The supposed cheap make) Them suckers are expensive.

If it were a intermittent connection, the only thing I could think of is fuel pump, because maybe it refused to turn on because it could sense the fuel pump wasn't turning on? I don't know, I've heard of a fuel pump problem before, my father's Nissan sat in the driveway for a couple years due to a few problems and that was one of them, and it didn't seem to want to give him the indication that it was even that. The only telltale sign was that he didn't hear it start up when he turned the car on, but didn't start it (Because he couldn't.)

I'm not a mechanic, hell this is my first car, so if all this sounds like amateur brainstorming, that's because it is.

UPDATE: Just scanned my car again, she did the on off dash indicator lights thing again, but once it stayed on and I heard the pump start, I started the car and scanned again, and she spat out a p0131 #10 error code, O2 sensor circuit low voltage bank 1 sensor.

Bad O2 sensor? Bad Fuse? Computer problem? Unrelated? When I searched up the problem people didn't seem to have the issues I'm having, they just wanted to know why it was spitting that code out.

Wiring or plug terminals could be damaged.

Where would I find an electrical diagram, would I have to buy a repair manual for my car?

Crazy enough, haven't had my car die mid drive since the initial one, but my car refuses to turn on until I leave the key in for awhile.

It's starting to make me think the two things are unrelated, and just because it correlated in time, doesn't mean one caused the other.

I would do a google search for diagrams. Also you have the option to get a Haynes (cheaper) or Chilton manual (more money and better) . They come with diagrams and some how to's in them.

Probably go with the Chilton, it's not that much and if it's better, why not spend a little more instead of regretting it later. I'll have to gather some change for that though, recently spent a lot on bills and such.

What are the apps they use at shops? ALLDATA and something else? Maybe a temporary membership would cost less than a whole hardcopy manual.

Up here the Haynes are cheap....like 20ish bucks....i think the Chilton is more than double. I personally would just look up the diagram on google.

Actually not sure about the membership. Curious about that cost though.

Says you can get my car's manual of Chilton for like 30-35 bucks online. Which is still expensive, but then I'd have something to come back to and reference all the time, as opposed to paying for a temporary membership. I've tried looking through google for not just the diagrams for my car, but for many other things, good luck finding them.

Either it's too obscure, I'm not using the right keywords, or google is too flooded by fake free resources. Where they make you go through hoops and you think you're about to get free knowledge of your car, and then last second they ask you for all your card info. Pretty awful. Don't see that marketing tactic working either, it just pisses people off.

The issue with doing that is: how do I know I'm truly looking at the right diagram. Every time I look though and check to be extra certain it's my model and year, it's another car entirely. :/ Googles just not THAT good with cars. I'll look into try a bit harder on that end, but I just don't see it being reliable.
