Alright so here's the problem, parked my car and everything was fine. Went to move the car about 3 hours later and it wouldn't start. I've dealt with the "theft system" failure before and this seems completely different, whereas the car would turn over and not fire up in this case nothing. When I turn the key to the "start" position nothing happens, car doesn't turn over and the starter doesn't even engage just complete silence. The battery is fine and completely charged and I've checked all other basic things and everything seems normal. It's almost as if I'm trying to start the car in "drive" and nothing is happening, if you know what I mean. Any advice or guidance would be appreciated before I go out a Stone Cold Stunner my car.

Move the gear selector to N and try to start it again. If it doesn't, turn the key to start while slowly moving the selector towards R and then D. If it starts, you have a bad neutral safety switch, or it's misaligned.

If you're comfortable doing this, put the trans in P, set the brake, turn the key on, and then manually jump the starter contacts. Using a remote starter switch is safer, or you can carefully attach jump-start cables to the terminals and then touch the other ends together.

If the starter doesn't even turn over then your problem exists in that area. If it turns but doesn't start then you have a larger problem (electrically speaking). If it starts then your issue is with the key switch and its associated circuitry.
