Title says it all. To get an idea of the noise it makes, watch
and imagine the squirrel had taken a few NO-DOZes and was on crack.

The noise only occurs while I'm driving. I can rev the engine in Park or Neutral to 2500rpm or higher and the noise does not occur. It goes away when the gears shift and the RPMs drop. The car drives just fine otherwise.

Yes, we replaced the crappy head gasket not too long ago.

My hope is that I don't need to rebuild the transmission.

LOL, That's just hilarious right there.

I was going to ask, what, exactly, does and angry squirrel sound like... I've never heard one. Looks like you've got that covered though. :D

Sorry that I can't help with your problem. Good luck! Hope it's nothing serious!

Could be the serp belt, I suppose.

Check all your fluid levels, including having a shop check the ATF (unfortunately no ATF dipstick on these cars).

Does the sound seem to come from one side of the car or other? Louder with the windows down?
