odd question, but does anyone have a wiring schematic for 2004 malibu seats? i need to know what each color wire is responsible for. drivers seat is power, passenger is manual. both have seat warmers.

for the driver's seat, i have a thick red wire with a black stripe, which i know is 12v to the power seats. also there's a thick black wire which is the ground for the power seats. in addition, i have:

2 more black wires- misc. ground wires obviously
gray- (something to do with the seat warmer)
yellow- (something to do with the seat warmer)
red-???
green-???

passenger seat is manual, but is equipped with seat warmers. wires are as follows:

2x black- grounds
gray (something to do with the seat warmer)
yellow (something to do with the seat warmer)

putting 2 and 2 together, i know that the gray and the yellow on both seats is for the seat warmers. i just need to know what wire does what. my initial idea was one was the power, and the other wire was illumination for the button? i could be wrong

however on the driver's seat, i have an additional red wire as well as a green wire that i don't know where they go. any help on this matter would be appreciated!

Welcome to the forum. The gray wires are usually for the temperature sensor (thermister). Hope to see you around.:)

thanks for the welcome. :)

when you say the gray wire is for the thermistor, do you mean that the seat has the thermistor in it and the gray wire is the power lead that goes to it? is it hot with ignition in "run"?

I guess I wasn't clear. The thermistor is for the control module to sense the temperature of the seat cushion. Since I've never owned a car with heated seats, I don't have any practical experience, though. I just remember wondering about both wires having the same color when I was looking over different thermistor circuits. Care to share what you're doing?

what i'm doing is i'm doing a seat swap. i'm taking the seats out of a 2004 Malibu and i'm modifying them to work in a Crown Victoria. i have successfully modified the Crown Victoria seat track to work with the Malibu seat, and i know what i have to do to get the power seat to work in the Crown Victoria. now the last thing i'm doing is doing the legwork to get the heated seats to work. Crown Victoria's can be easily retrofitted to use seat warmers, therefore i'm pretty sure i can get the seat warmers to work with it, i'm just trying to figure out the wiring, as ford and chevy obviously have different color codes/combinations.

yeah. so far it has been going pretty good. i love the malibu seats; there a lot nicer than the seats in the crown victoria. i figured out today where everything goes. the gray illuminates the seat controls, and the yellow is the power for the unit. and on the drivers' seat, the additional red and green go to the seat belt minder.
