So, on the way on a trip one day suddenly the car downshifts to 2nd gear and it wont go past that anymore. As far as it shifting from park to reverse to neutral and drive its fine. However once it hits second that's it and it just continues to rev. Checked the fluid which is full. Not sure on what else I can look into. Any help would be appreciated. I was thinking speed sensor or shift solenoid.

Was this "one day" about 7 months ago?

This is the 4 speed transmission, correct? They have plastic fluid pipes in the pan that sometimes split and will cause a sudden loss of gears. They are not too difficult to access after dropping the pan.

Sounds like limb Mode. Before buying a trans. What does it take for the computer to tell the trans it’s alright to shift gears. In this case you have to see what the computer sees. And go to each mode and see if it is in specs. Opens and shorts may also be causing the mode not to react. Eric O has one along these lines his video may help you.
