Hey all, I drive a 2005 Malibu Maxx. Love the car and all, except one thing: this car has got the ugliest steering wheel I have ever seen.

I am wondering if it's possible to put a wheel from a newer malibu of the same generstion, with the much better steering wheel, into my malibu.

Jesse, if same generation....yes sure, that is possible......maybe you want to try custom steering wheel like momo racing, it would be better.

My cruise controls are on the steering wheel.

your best bet is Car-Part.com. they have listings for every state and you can search for the parts you need.

Let me know how this goes. I have the same car and would just like to upgrade to the same wheel but with a leather rim. Can't stand the plastic rim.

You can find the leather one used on ebay for about $50 minus the air bag which we can re-use. The question is how the controls will sync up.
