As I go thru things during my tuning up of my 2006 Maxx, I am stumped as to the PCV valve on the 3.5 (LX9) I have.

In the first photo, this is what they call for on O'Reilly site

But, it is not what I have in the valve cover on my engine, as this 2nd photo shows. I took hose off the one I have, shined a light down into it, and it is hollow inside, am thinking it is a breather of some sort. So, is the PCV valve located on the intake somewhere??

It may not be a valve but a fixed size orifice. Looks like the fixed size orifice.
My newer 3.6 motors are that way. Fresh air comes in from the intake tube to one side of the motor and opposite valve cover has the vacuum side. Check Rock Auto's site, parts store sites can be very sketchy.

Use a flash light and or a pipe cleaner.
Ok thanks will do. Checking it will be next to last thing on my routine maintenance project, Heck it still has the original ACDelco plug wires on it.Not sure if time to toss those or not. I do have a fresh set of correct AC Iridium plugs, as I don't know if they've ever been replaced or not
