2008 LTZ governor??

Does anyone know how I can disable the governor on my LTZ? I brought it to Europe with me (no speed limits in a lot of places

) and am a little bummed about the 120mph limmiter...

I know what you mean man, the governor annoys me too. Sadly there are no chips released yet to remove it so the only option is to either fabricate one yourself or wait until someone else gets it done..... plus how was germany? lol

Any speed tuner with EFI Live can modify the programming to remove the speed limiter. It's there because the stock tires are only rated to 118mph.

Seems like my LT will only go to 111mph. I've tried to push it further, but it wouldn't budge.

yeah the 2.4's are limited to 112, and the v6's must be about 120
usualy the v6 cars are limited to 124-126

HP Tuners can also be used to remove the speed limiter on the Malibu. If you can find anyone over there tuning Corvettes or GTO's or Camaros, they should be able to help you out.

werd hptuner is where it is at.....but it is set there for a reason...tires and brakes cannot handle too much more

Get it tuned... and get new tires first. I would be interested in knowing how fast it goes.

4 speed probably runs out of gear around 140-155 ish.

well I own a Canadian 2.4 LT and when I was in the US I topped it out going 120mph, thats when the govenor kicked in..... takes away all the fun =(

my car does the 112 in 3ed gear so 140-155 is a good assumption

Going 140mph in my car would be awesome. Lots of straight highways around here....
