I wanted to know if the 2009 LT1 trim engine is an interference engine or where I can find out?

all gm engines are interference fit nowadays

It has a chain, no belt, and yes it is interference.

So, the belt that I see, thats just for the alternator running of the crankshaft correct? I am trying to learn about this engine but I can't find anything. Anyone know of a good site that has some diagrams I can look at, or even a book I can read?

Thank you guys for your help. I had one more question, what book can you guys recommend to learn about engines? I don't want something for beginners, I want something a little extensive. I also want want a newer type book, something fairly recent that talks about newer engine kinds.

You may want to consider getting the factory service manuals from Helm. Goto http://www.helminc.com/helm/welcome_select_oem.asp?Style=helm and then search for GMP09ZNS. When I got the set for my Saturn, it turned out to be the best couple hundered I ever spent.
