Hi all! Just brought a 2009 LTZ into the family for my college age son. Replaced a beloved Saturn ION, and I'm glad to have found a Malibu community similar to the Saturn fans!

Just going around the car finding what needs to be fixed, so far I have looked here for replacing the lock actuators, which only work halfway; I need a new third brake light but I think the inspection shop will have to deal with that; just some little dings and things need help.

One of which are the corner rubber trim/molding things under the hood at the corner of the windshield. Both sides are just demolished, and it lets a lot of debris into the engine
compartment.

Can anyone assist with the name of this piece of trim? I don't know how to search for it or whether its a part of a bigger piece, just so broken I can't tell.
I'm sure I'll be here often, looking for ways to make this car look great and last long- thanks in advance for any help!

I would check with your local GM dealer to see what they would charge. The link I gave you is to a GM dealer that sells parts online.
You could also check a local "junkyard" to see if they have a Gen7 Malibu there that you could grab these parts off of.
My 2012 Malibu LT has been outside in CT its' entire life and these parts are still good. Looks like yours got hit with some chemicals or are constantly in direct sunlight/heat.

Yes, I did change them- they look great.
Again I don't know that they are worth $50 each, but as Malibu Pete says above, if you source them from a salvage place or your local GM parts desk, maybe you can do better on price.
Super easy- they just clip in with a little tab, then just tuck them where they belong.
