I am not talking about the part of the dash with the storage compartment. I am talking about the piece behind it. The piece that has the vents and the onstar bubble. In the middle and the passenger side, it has started to float up and sown with the weather. Some days it is above the front dash piece, some it is level, some it is below. I looked at the whole front row of Malibu's at the dealer and it is below. My dealer says it is normal, and there is nothing to address, but the driver's side never moves. Any ideas????

First of all the bubble you are referring to has nothing to do with On-Star. It is the photocell sensor that decides whether or not it is dark enough outside to turn on the headlights automatically.

Sounds like the dealer you went to just doesn't want to check it out or even repair the dash. Have you tried taking it to another dealership? You may also try documenting it, snap some pictures of it when it is bubbled up, normal, and lower. Or even take it to the dealer when you notice it at its worst so they can see it, hard for them to say it would be normal and they might just fess up and get it fixed. Good luck.

If I recall somebody posted about this a few weeks ago. I think they said there is a TSB for it. Either way, your dealer should fix it. They don't wanna because upper dash work is very time consuming since alot has to come apart.
