Sounds clean minus the underglow, personally don't care for it. And search my friend, this question has been beaten to death. Not too many performance parts are made for the Malibu being a mid-size family sedan. Best route is custom fabrication.

Underglow is sick! I just got a 3 aqua kits to make the whole under of the car glow. Lights under the car are cool, I mean, who else has it now a days, and on a Malibu, cant get any better.

fast and furious lol. i always thought that underglow is the pinacle of the "look at my car!, thats usually not fast" and nine times out of ten the guy driving will be wearing an ed hardy shirt lol. i guess i just dont get it. plus in most states its illegal to drive with the underglow on.. but i dont mean to rant.. it is your car after all not mine!

flowmaster muffler and a striaght pipe
Am I the only one who sees that as a contradiction? Last I checked the term "straight pipe" means without a muffler. Sounds like X43 has what the rest of the world would call a "catback exhaust".

Yes, I love to split hairs

i guess what you would call a "catback exhaust" id call a straight pipe, the guy who welded it on with my other pipes just said it was a straight pipe, who knows, could be a catback...

I was one of those dead horse beaters. As I asked a similar question when I joined.

I did learn some things though. 1, what you have now is a CAI, unless you changed something with it. 2, by custom fabing one there is a chance you will piss off the car (technical term there) and it will start running rough. I'd drop in a k&n filter before reinventing the wheel, if you are dead set on the idea.

I'm not recommending by any means that you do install a K&N filter. I want to be clear on that. As I have read some posts of the oils used for the filter may impede the functionality of your MAF sensor.

what he means is that straight pipe usually refers to running no mufflers at all. in your case i think you just got rid of the resonator.

all straight piping means is that you replaced a section of your exhaust with nothing but regular exhaust pipe. For instance, I used to straight pipe all my older cars when the catalytic converter would go out. Just replace the converter with a plain piece of pipe, but still had a muffler and everything.
