Guys

Here is something I've been noticing for a while. There is a certain whine while im driving, it sound like the whine that you would get when your transmission fuild was low from a car from the 70's. Now I noticed this whine particularly this am. I remote started my car, it ran for 5min before I got in. When I sat there I heard this whine. I pulled out and drove to work whine goes away after 6.7 miles of driving. I can't pinpoint where its coming from.

Lastly, the last time I went in for service they upgraded my transmission modual. Now I notice on cold days the car revs high when starts and runs this way for 10 -11 mins. Any one have this problem ?

By the way I checked the problem section of gen 7 to find these problems but I didnt , If I missed it I apologize.

Thanks

Well there have been some posts about noises with the remote start on. Pretty sure someone had the fix, but you'd have to find the thread. The wife's car makes some odd noises sometimes when using the remote start too.

Years later -- I have the answer to this mess -- It was the power steering pump. Needed a new one and that annoying sound is gone. No more whine on acceleration !

the engine is nice and quite

If you use Lucas Power Steering Fluid with Conditioners it'll really help reduce and/or prevent PS whine. I'm on my 3rd Gen7 V6 and all 3 have benefited from using it.

For a testimonial, ask @cp-the-nerd how well it worked on his.
