Need to replace the 2.4 engine in a 2011 Malibu. Does anyone know if a 2009 will fit? My engine code is 1. Seller says it will may have to change intake. I'm concerned about right side axle support bracket holes.

Do you have a California emissions car? When you first start the car and the engine is cold, do you hear an air pump turn on? I ask because the heads are different.

Under hood sticker will say if it's Cali. emissions and Cali. air pump bolts to front side of oil pan.

Thanks for the response. I'm aware of the California emissions,this car has federal emissions. Everything I find says it won't work
