Anybody replace struts on a Gen 8 2LZ or 3LT (Turbo 2.0, 19" wheels)? I've read that KYB is better quality, among "OEM grade", but they only list one P/N (per side) whereas FCS, which I've never heard of, distinguished between the 2LZ/3LT and other models. Definitely different P/Ns. I don't want to pay for high price "racing" parts, but I do drive it to its full potential and want at least OEM quality parts. Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks!

the shock/strut valving is supposed to be different (as are the brakes) on the 3LT/2LZ models with the 2.0T with either the 18" or 19" wheels...beyond that I can't help but hopefully someone who has used any of the other brands beyond OEM can chime in and help you

Good luck

I recently replaced struts/shocks on my 2015 LS trim. I went with AC Delco parts specified for the Buick Regal (506-1139/1140), they're working well with the Vogtland springs. For 2013, ACDelco offers the options of 506-987/988 for the turbo, and 506-967/968 for the 2.5. For 2014 and 2015, Rockauto only lists 506-1102/1103, which is also an option for the 2013 so they just made 1102/1103 standard instead of having the 2 options.

If you want it to drive the same, I recommend going with the ACDelco 506-987/988 struts and 560-920/921 shocks(they come with shock mounts). Also get new strut mounts and spring insulators while you're in there.

Thanks, I did look at the ACDelco parts and the price was reasonable, but I've not used a spring compressor since the nineties, (and then only on A-Frame suspension) so I was hoping to go with an all-in-one solution as offered in the aftermarket.

Gotcha, I sort of did the same thing to speed up installation, bought new hardware so I could assemble the strut in the house before installing. In your case I wouldn't worry about the aftermarket only having one part number, go with the mose reputable brand.
