Hey everyone, I have a 2013 malibu ECO (170K miles) about 2 months ago the car laid down on me. It’s been great for a long time, no issues or trouble. Regular maintenance, and it’s a daily driver. I have replaced the the fuel pump, Cam shaft portion sensor, checked plugs and wires. I have a code scanner( can’t recall codes at this time). The vehicle drove great until while I was going up hill with cruise control on, car down shifted normally, and tacked 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 RPM. Climbed to the top of the hill and shifted. Then spontaneously lost all power, and shut off happen. It did not flash any thing besides engine power reduced, and everything was off. All electronics were working fine, radio at the time windows, etc. costed to the bottom of the hill and towed it from there.
after that being done, i begun replacing parts and common things I thought of the possible cause. The vehicle has a crank to it, when I turn the key. You can here everything come on fuel pump, electronics, etc. While cranking, it has a whining noise to it, it’s cranking but not as normal. It is not the starter, at least I don’t think and others. The car is in time, after removing the top end to assess that. The engine is getting spark to it, and pushing fuel. I tried to use starter fluid to see if it would hit, and nothing. The car has been sitting since. I have read many forms about the car. I have never had issues with the GCM it seems. It has never displayed the service charging system, or anything like that. I ordered a ECM and I am waiting on it to arrive.
anyone else have any ideas?
I will keep this updated as the days go on. Thanks everyone
