So I recently got the transmission replaced after the original failed with a rebuilt transmission with a three year warranty.
My dilemma is weather I should trade the Bu in for a vehicle I know isn't likely to fail for piece of mind?
I love the handling, but it's a GM product. This is only my second vehicle I have owned.

If you just pumped in money on a rebuilt transmission you probably should keep it a bit. But, how many miles and where is it used?

Ironically, the 2014 isn't known for transmission problems, the 6-speed has been pretty well sorted out since around 2011. If anything it was known for engine defects or pre-ignition piston failure that would have reared their ugly heads by now if they were going to happen.

If you like the car, keep it. If you can't shake the feeling of unreliability dread, then I've seen a number of 2014-2016 Honda Accord V6 models on the used market for a reasonable price.

Good luck finding any car with the new car shortage and with all the flooding so there is a car shortage right now. Yeah they will give you crazy money for a trade in but prices are crazy for buying used also.
Take a look behind any brand dealership, all those cars are not just there for oil changes.......

So would you recommend I go get the engine checked out also? I don't know if it's sully to sound this way but it does have a slight 'ticking' sound to it. Also it vibrates slightly

Its hard to give advice in a situation like this, because I don't know what state of condition the car is in, the mileage and/overall condition of the car when you purchased it. My general advice is that if a car gave you unsatisfactory service then you should unload it and get a reliable car. I will give you my story with the Malibu Turbo. I was very satisfied with the service and condition of the car overall. The material fit and finish was greatly improved from previous generations. The engine and powertrain was reliable; I did not have one mechanical or reliability issue in my 4 year ownership. The car feels as composed as it was the first day that I took it home. The factors for this was; I bought the car with relatively low miles, the car was in mint condition through-out at the time of purchase. Additionally, I stayed on top of the maintenance and did not vary with the instruction of synthetic oil and premium gas. My Malibu is healthy, it retained its good appearance and continues to provide willing service and performance.

I bought a demo 2014 turbo in 2016. Since memory is fading I don't remember the price or the mileage. I do remember that I got the price down to a 1000 difference between the dealer and me when my wife, God rest her soul, said Why don''t you sp[it the difference?" We did!
I currently have 66478 miles. I down loaded Tri fecta about 3 years ago and Pedal Commander not to long
after that. I am a fan of driving my Malibu "Spiritedly" and I enjoy the heck out of it. I also had it out on a local track once a couple of years ago. That was much much fun!
I have had no problems. Knock on wood. The only problem I have now is trying to find a good looking wheel that is "light weight". I also use Amsoil which I think may be some of the "no problems".
