I have a 2017 Chevy Malibu LT and i am putting a system in it. I am going to be running at least 5,000 watts max with everything I'm putting in it.

I can not find a high output Alternator for my vehicle. Do anyone know where i can find a really good Alternator. I've looked everywhere and can not find one.

I am putting a Sundown Audio X Series v.2 15" (1500-Watts)-DVC-20HM Subwoofer in It.

I have a 3000 watt SFB- 3000 D Sundown Amp
I have a second XS-Power D2700, 3500w, 4500w Battery I'm putting in the trunk.

I still have my factory radio and all the factory components that came with the car.

If the second battery runs the amp and sub, have you considered using a DC-to-DC charger to keep the battery charged? That might let you stick with the factory alternator.

If you just gotta have an alternator, and since you're adding so much current draw, maybe it would be good to add a second alternator and drive it with either a longer serp belt or by adding a pulley to the crank just for the new alt.

Modding comes with challenges, and electrical mods on computer-controlled cars pose a real challenge.

I've thought about that as well

Lots of issues on this forum with people trying to modify the 2016-2021 Malibu sound system. Several people have shorted out the MyLink head unit or caused other major electrical problems because all the systems are so integrated. Be careful during your install.

Did you find something? I've been looking at these but not sure if I want to pull the trigger:

With that, the batteries and new wiring it'd put me close to $1k for just the electrical upgrades... I'll probably do it though.

I’m trying to figure out a way to get a ported 15 or a 12 in a 4th order in my 18LT What are the max dimensions that will fit through the cabin or rear? Do you build it inside the trunk? Are you blowing through into the cabin or just leaving the trunk sealed? Thanks in advance.

Could this cause loss of power when I accelerate

I've been having that issue, not all the time, but it will hesitate when the engine is cold. Mornings mostly.. but, it was happening before I put the amps and sub in. I'm going to have to figure it out. Any ideas yet?
