More progress. Tapped factory harness for inputs to the MiniDSP. Measured 8V RMS with a 40Hz tone at Vol 60 into the factory amp. Will use the "high level" input on the MiniDSP to prevent possible overdrive of the 4V "low" inputs.

Acoustical treatments began in the trunk. A 50 cu.ft. bag of R-19 Ultratouch is being installed in every cavity and crevice (used half of thr bag in the trunk). Some Rammaudio BXT II is installed sparingly. The ultratouch insulation does most of the work. Trunk lid holes are covered once filled.

Grommets are installed where wiring passes through the trim panels. Amp rack goes in next, will share those pics tonight.

Awesome pictures!

So the head unit is providing 8 volts at max volume? That is very good. But as you say, it may overdrive many components and amps. Is this a concern when using this signal to drive amplifiers?

Yes, it is a concern and why we used the high level inputs on the DSP.

My earlier measurements were at the owners typical listening volume.

Looking at your picture above of the factory amp and green plug, it appears you may be just bypassing the factory amp completely. So grabbing the input signal and going to the Audison which amps front speakers as well? Are you even going to plug the green audio plug back into the factory amp?

I am for now. We will run dedicated 12awg speaker wire when we replace the speakers with Hertz HSK-165 and run active. Owner lives 2 hrs away so we meet up when possible.

Keep_hope_alive I see you took everyting out of the trunk. Can you give me a quicky on how the panels remove? I see all the pins and I know to pop those out but do I need to pop the black peice of at the very back of the trunk with the hooks? How does that come off? Do you need to pop plastic clips inside the rear seat also? Also, did oyu use carpet padding for the extra sound dampening?

I can give you access to a pdf if you send me a PM.

The rear black piece pops out on the bottom a bit (an inch) but then it lifts up for clips on top. They may break, so be careful.

Not carpet padding, ultratouch insulation (fiberglass alternative) for sound absorption.

Figured I should provide some updates.

Hertz HSK-165 were installed. Doors had deadener added, encased fiberglass tiles (to control reverberation in the doors), and were fully enclosed then foamed for rattle mitigation. Wiring was routed with factory wiring.

Speakers were gasketed to the mounts and do the door panel itself.

Tweeters aren't final as we aren't happy with the fitment or aesthetics. But they do sound very good.

MiniDSP was tuned for a good sound stage. Center is well placed in the middle of the dash with good depth and height.

Factory EQ was counteracted with the MiniDSP, then the acoustical response was measured and corrected from there.

A Hertz ML2500 is currently in a vented box. The two 15's are waiting until we feel like we are finished in the trunk since the box isn't easily removable.
