That looks like it took a long time, but was most likely a labor of love.

Does your car have ANC, and if so, did you do anything special as a result?

.

I was admiring your Honda Accord pictures, I like your thread and your expertise. I noticed the Lujack dealer tag on your car.

A question for keep_hope_alive (or anybody else who knows the answer): Has anybody ever measured the output power and THD of the stock factory amplifier? Does the stock stereo in the Gen 9 Malibu LT have a separate amp, or a small amp built into the head unit? I read on another GM forum that the stock factory radio from around 2006 could put out 9 watts RMS into 4 ohms x 4 channels. Some of the cheapest generic-brand replacement head units claim 13 or 14 watts RMS, so I'm guessing the stock radio may use similar chips. Just wondering.
Just got a 2019 LT and the stock stereo is OK, but the "flying bird" shaped frequency response doesn't surprise me. Everybody is borrowing from the Bose playbook these days.

The LT did have an external amplifier and the chimes were located in the amplifier so you lose those if you bypass it.

We never bothered to measure the voltage output but you could put a DMM on the amplifier outputs pretty easily and do a quick calc at various impedances. That calc will be based on the volume level, signal type, and DMM type - a 50Hz tone would be the most accurate read for most meters. The speakers won't like it tho.

One easy way to get output power would be to open up the factory amp and see what kind of output amp chips it has. Most stereo gear these days has integrated amp-on-a-chips, one for each channel. Seeing the model number allows you to look it up online and get all the specs. I have done this for some audio gear already. I don't know if the amp can be opened without damaging it.

So just following up, this worked. I used these RCA adapters with phoenix connectors on them. I am however having an issue with my amp going into protect mode when I start pushing the subs hard. Its a POS Rockville DB16 amp, and I've read reviews that are similar to what I am experiencing. My only hope is that it isn't these connectors causing the issues because theyre not shielded or whatever other reason. I have a Hifonics Brutus 3000w amp on the way so I will follow up after I install it. Bass sounds nice and clean though, no feedback or issues with the ANC.

What would be the best way to tap into these wires? Can I use a t- connector or is there something better? Sorry I haven't done this in a long time
Soldering connections is the only recommendation I have, and the only way I tap wires. Anything other than soldering will be problematic. Wires don't need to be cut, you can strip back insulation and solder onto the wire, then tape up (3M Super 33+).

I have videos showing connection methods:

Soldering is best if you are good at it. But using pigtail or twist crimp connectors should be plenty good enough for the car's lifetime.

Yep, this is why I measured it. I suspected the same and was happy with the signal level.

I am disappointed with the factory EQ and will have to correct that with the new system.

So everything works fine. New amp took care of my issues. Don't buy Rockville (Amazon) amps, they are junk. Everything works perfect and no ANC issues whatsoever.

What did you tap into to get the remote wire so the amp turned on

Yes it is, all the output is coming from the H/U to the factory amp. I have a 2016 LT with a 4 channel amp and processor connected from the factory amp....suffering because my chimes are LOUD! One installer said he can somehow bypass only the speaker outputs from H/U to my 4 channel amp.
Was you able to do anything to tone down chimes, I have same problem with being loud?

I have a question please?
I have the 2016 model LT and everything looks much the same as mine, I'm having trouble. I have the lc7i and I have to use cause I have sub amp that does not have low level inputs so I'm stuck with adding line converter with the LC7I.

Could you possibly post speaker connection and write color please? This is the 16 pin green connector at amp. Also, the 16 pin plug has 8 little wires for speaker wires and 8 bigger ones of same color assuming they go out to speakers and little ones come from head unit? Correct?

I have 2 pioneer premier dual 4ohm parallel down to 1ohm at amp, CT-Meso componet up from and Meso 6.5 mids in back doors with tweets on pillers. CT 400 4 channel amp running those. 5 fared cap running into agm925 battery. Keeping stock radio and stock amp..

I heard on signal come noise turn down gain just a little and it goes away, it worked for me.. There is fine line of being dead on.. .

But...
Thank for any info you could give as I'm another one trying to master these newer cars and its a pain
. Love all the info you provided already in continueing to follow you.. Lol

Thanks again
